Inchcape Bolivia – Imcruz and Automóvil Club Boliviano join forces to train responsible young drivers

With this agreement, the company’s program “I Move Safely” extends to more countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to raise awareness about the importance of road safety for children and young people.

Our team in Bolivia signed an Interinstitutional Collaboration Agreement with the Bolivian Automobile Club (ACB) to generate a positive social impact and contribute to safer mobility in the country. This non-profit alliance provides comprehensive services to motorists and promotes safety.

Thanks to this partnership, road safety education and responsible driving are promoted among teenagers, shaping young individuals who are aware of their role in street safety.

Road accidents in Bolivia: alarming figures

According to official data, in the first half of 2025, 9,731 road accidents were recorded in Bolivia, equivalent to more than 53 accidents per day. These incidents left 8,036 people injured, including 1,196 children and teenagers, directly affecting hundreds of families across the country. Santa Cruz accounted for 40% of the injured, followed by La Paz (22%) and Cochabamba (11%).

Driver errors were the main cause of the accidents, including recklessness and driving under the influence of alcohol, highlighting the urgency of promoting preventive road safety education from an early age.

Road safety education as a tool for change

Through the automotive company’s program “I Move Safely,” in its first phase, teenagers from public and private educational institutions nationwide will receive experiential workshops, educational activities, teaching materials, and awareness campaigns on responsibility behind the wheel. The initiative aims to:

    • Prevent more teenagers from being injured or affected by road accidents.
    • Promote safe habits on the country’s streets and highways.
    • Shape citizens capable of spreading road safety awareness in their communities.

“As a leader in the automotive sector in Bolivia, we know that our commitment goes beyond business. Partnering with the Bolivian Automobile Club allows us to strengthen our program, shape responsible young drivers, and contribute to safer mobility for everyone,” said Michelle Noriega, General Manager of Imcruz – Inchcape Bolivia.

The Bolivian Automobile Club, with its extensive technical and educational experience, will lead the pedagogical design, execution of activities, and coordination with educational institutions, ensuring quality and rigor at every stage of the program.

“It is an honor to work alongside Imcruz. Together, we shape responsible young drivers and promote road safety education as a tool to save lives,” stated Cristian Zambrana Calderón, General Manager of the Bolivian Automobile Club.

    Commitment to a safer future

This partnership is part of the global Accelerate+ strategy of Inchcape, where Sustainability is fundamentally integrated into the development of all initiatives by the world’s leading automotive distributor, of which Imcruz is a part in Bolivia. With programs that protect lives and improve street safety, the company reinforces its commitment to generating social value and building safer communities, fostering responsible driving habits from an early age.
