- The centre located in Villa El Salvador spans 10,400 m2, where spare parts for light and heavy-duty vehicles will be stored.
As part of its regional growth strategy, Accelerate Plus, and its sustained commitment to the Peruvian market, Inchcape, the world's leading independent automotive distributor, announced the opening of its new spare parts distribution centre in Villa El Salvador, Lima.
With a surface area of 10,400 m2, the new integrated centre is designed to transform logistics operations, significantly improving operational efficiency, optimising delivery times and costs, and consolidating operations under a single sustainable and world-class standard.
“This centre, classified as Class A for its high-quality facilities, efficiency, and agility in supply chain management, represents a strategic investment that enhances our capacity to meet the current and future market demand. Additionally, it reflects our commitment to continue investing in logistics infrastructure in Peru, thereby achieving more agile, secure, and sustainable processes for our customers,” stated Roberto Delgado, Managing Director of Inchcape Peru and Bolivia.
Optimising space and logistics efficiency
This project integrates two spare parts warehouses into a single centralised operation, enabling optimal use of vertical space thanks to the greater height of the new warehouse, resulting in a more compact, organised, and efficient operation.
The strategic location of the new logistics centre in Villa El Salvador, Lima, increases our reception and dispatch capacity by 50%, allowing orders to be shipped more frequently and in less time. Furthermore, the integration of the operational team in a single location enables more coordinated management, with improvements in traceability, customer service, and the achievement of Inchcape's sustainability objectives.
Design and infrastructure
In terms of infrastructure, the new logistics centre was designed with high technical and safety standards, incorporating significant improvements that optimise operational efficiency and contribute to reducing our environmental impact. Key advancements include:
- Reinforced concrete floors capable of supporting up to 7.2 tonnes per rack, ensuring safe and robust operations.
- A ventilation system with wind extractors to maintain optimal conditions within the warehouse.
- LED lighting technology with motion sensors that maximise the use of natural light.
- Wireless technologies that enable more precise inventory management, real-time traceability, and reduced picking errors.
“This centre is a symbol of our long-term vision for the country. We aim to continue growing alongside Peru, delivering world-class service, enhancing the customer experience, and actively contributing to the development of a more sustainable industry,” concluded Roberto Delgado.
