  • The new 2024 Sustainability Report highlights a 9% reduction in operational emissions and the incorporation of over 100 new energy models in the Americas.
  • The report positions the region as a strategic area for executing the group’s global agenda, leading key advancements in decarbonization, electrification, and social impact programs: the company achieved a 17% market share in new energy vehicles (NEV) in Latam and quadrupled its model portfolio between 2022 and 2024.

Inchcape plc, the world’s leading independent automotive distributor, has today published its 2024 Sustainability Report, reaffirming its ambition to accelerate the transition towards more sustainable, inclusive, and enduring mobility. This edition particularly highlights the progress of the Americas region, which has played a fundamental role in localizing the global sustainability strategy, with concrete results in electrification, emissions reduction, and social impact.

The automotive industry is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. In this context, Inchcape’s Sustainability Framework, a central part of its Accelerate+ strategy, establishes a clear vision: to enable the mobility of the future through solutions that address global challenges while also responding to local realities. Sustainability is now a strategic component driving operational efficiency, improving competitiveness, and strengthening partnerships with OEMs and key stakeholders in every market.

Globally, Inchcape operates in 38 markets and has consolidated its position as a key player in the industry’s transformation, combining local expertise with advanced digital capabilities. The new sustainability framework reinforces the group’s commitment to mobility that is not only low-emission but also inclusive and adapted to local contexts. The company has set a target to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 46% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.

In 2024, the Americas region accounted for 37% of the group’s global revenue and 46% of profit before tax, solidifying its position as a key driver of the global business. This economic performance was accompanied by substantial progress across the four pillars of Inchcape’s sustainability framework: Planet, People, Places, and Practices.

«The automotive industry is experiencing a transformation marked by the accelerated advancement of new technologies, a constantly evolving OEM ecosystem, and increasingly stringent regulatory frameworks. In this scenario, the need for a global transition towards sustainable mobility becomes more urgent than ever. At Inchcape Americas, we embrace this challenge with determination, driving local solutions that connect this global vision with the concrete needs of our communities. Sustainability is not just an aspiration: it is a pathway to generate economic, environmental, and social value, today and into the future,» said Mike Bowers, CEO of Inchcape Americas.
