We have launched a new AI-powered tool: quote your car repair in minutes from your mobile phone

  • The initiative, which has already started its pilot phase in Chile and Peru, aims to streamline and enhance the omnichannel experience for customers.

Inchcape, the leading automotive distributor in the region, has taken a new step in digital products by launching the first AI-powered aftersales solution. This innovation, known as DYP (Dent and Paint), is already operating as a pilot in Chile and Peru for the BMW brand, enabling customers to quote and schedule repairs directly from their mobile phones, without the need to visit a branch in person.

Through a digital platform, the system allows users to upload images of the damage, receive an automated evaluation, and obtain an instant quote. If the customer accepts the proposal, they can schedule their service within the same process.

“To date, more than 50 customers have benefited in both countries. With this technology, we are redefining the aftersales experience. We understand that a scratch or dent can be frustrating, and we want to resolve it quickly, transparently, and from wherever the customer is. This is a concrete example of how innovation can improve both the experience and productivity,” said Mauricio Herrera, Head of Distribution & Retail Excellence Inchcape Americas.

For customers, this tool represents a radical change in the aftersales experience: it allows them to quote and schedule aesthetic repairs in minutes, from anywhere, without queues or unnecessary travel. This not only reduces waiting times but also improves transparency and speeds up decision-making.

For internal teams, the system enables faster and more accurate damage estimation, optimises workload, and frees up physical space in workshops by reducing in-person visits.

Currently, the service is available for BMW customers in Chile and Peru, but the goal is to scale this model to more brands and countries where the company operates, while also integrating new features such as video-based damage evaluation.
