- The collaboration between Inchcape Chile, the UC Anacleto Angelini Innovation Centre, and the UC School of Design aims to promote the development of female talent in the automotive industry, bringing the company closer to new generations and addressing challenges in sustainability, equity, and the future of work.
With the purpose of driving cultural change in the automotive sector, Inchcape Chile signed a strategic partnership with the UC Anacleto Angelini Innovation Centre and the UC School of Design, marking the launch of a collaborative programme focused on innovation and the development of female talent. This partnership aligns with the sustainability strategy of Inchcape Americas, which promotes more equitable and representative workplaces across all the countries where it operates.
The launch milestone of this partnership includes a joint work plan for 2025, featuring an innovation challenge with UC students, talks, fairs, and a shared communication strategy between both institutions. The programme will be structured under a design-based innovation methodology, addressing topics such as employer branding, talent attraction, and professional development in the industry.
The challenges to be promoted throughout the year will be grouped under the name “Inchcape Women Challenge” and will cover themes such as increasing female participation in leadership roles within the mobility sector and advancing electromobility and new technologies.
“For Inchcape, working with UC represents a unique opportunity to connect with new generations, challenge our own cultural models, and advance a purpose that drives us: to be a more diverse and innovative company. This partnership allows us to bring together talent, academic vision, and concrete action to transform the industry from within,” said Jorge Maldonado, Managing Director of Inchcape Chile.
From UC, the partnership will be driven by the UC Innovation Centre and the UC School of Design, involving faculty, researchers, and students in initiatives that connect the business world with academia through a co-creation approach.
“This collaboration with Inchcape is a concrete example of how innovation is enhanced when organisations open up to co-design and work together with the ecosystem, strengthening the academia-industry connection. We believe that gender and cultural transformation challenges require real spaces for action, and this partnership moves in that direction,” said Marcela Briones, Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications at the UC Innovation Centre.
The first challenge of this partnership will be the “Women at the Wheel” challenge, where teams of students will tackle issues related to leadership and female inclusion in the mobility sector. The initiative includes mentoring, a final pitch, public voting, and an awards ceremony, with active participation from Inchcape leaders and UC academics.
“This project reinforces our commitment to talent development in an industry that is rapidly changing. Engaging with university students allows us to bring the sector’s reality closer, foster innovation from early stages, and create a mutual learning space that enriches both academia and the company,” said Adriana Ubilla, People Director of Inchcape Chile.
The partnership also includes visibility opportunities such as motivational panels and Inchcape Breaks, where the company will share its experience with students and address topics like employability, sustainability, and innovation from a practical and approachable perspective.
Through this partnership, Inchcape reaffirms its commitment as an employer of choice, fostering more diverse, collaborative, and innovative environments to lead the future of mobility in Chile and Latin America.
