  • The company strengthens its sustainability strategy by joining the largest global network of corporate sustainability, which promotes ethical and responsible principles and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in more than 160 countries.

In line with the global growth strategy Accelerate+ and its goal of being the most sustainable route to market, Inchcape Chile formalized its adherence to the United Nations Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. This incorporation reinforces the company's commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) pillars and its active contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Sustainability is a central axis of our operation. This adherence strengthens our commitment to continue transforming the business by integrating environmental, social, and governance criteria throughout our value chain. Chile plays a key role in this agenda, and we are proud to actively contribute to a more responsible and environmentally conscious industry,” said Jorge Maldonado, Managing Director of Inchcape Chile.

In this regard, Margarita Ducci, Executive Director of Global Compact Chile, stated, “We are deeply pleased that Inchcape Chile is joining our network. We know that behind every commitment there are human teams driven by a common purpose. Inchcape drives the transition towards cleaner and more efficient mobility, leading the electric vehicle market in the country with a market share exceeding 25%, adapting to local needs. Definitely, it is a new partner from whom there is much to learn.”

The adherence implies the commitment to annually report the company's progress regarding the 10 Universal Principles of the Global Compact, which cover key areas such as Human Rights, Labor Standards, Environment, and Anti-Corruption, in addition to contributing to the achievement of the 17 SDGs.

“The commitment to sustainability is also reflected in how we operate in highly demanding sectors such as machinery and transportation. From waste management to energy efficiency in our operations, we are aligning every part of the business with a more conscious and efficient long-term vision,” stated Pablo Klocker, Managing Director Machinery & Commercial Vehicles Americas.

With this incorporation, Chile joins other countries in the region such as Bolivia and Colombia, which joined the network in 2023 and earlier this year, respectively.

In this way, Inchcape Americas reinforces its leadership in the transition towards more sustainable mobility, which today is reflected in Chile with a 44% share in the new energy vehicles (NEVs) segment and 27% in electric vehicles, integrating responsible practices into its business strategy that positively impact people, the planet, and the communities where it operates.
