Inchcape continues to demonstrate its commitment to safe mobility through its programme “I Move Safely”, now in its “kids” version, focused on educating new generations on road safety. This project has had a positive impact in Costa Rica and Peru and will train 700 children in 2024.
Costa Rica
In Costa Rica, the programme carried out two of the nine visits planned for this year. With the participation of 80 volunteers from Inchcape, children have learned about road safety through interactive games such as “Circuit City” and “Guess the Sign”, as well as by creating traffic signs using recyclable materials. The activity was made possible thanks to the support of the Costa Rican Automobile Club, the Road Safety Council, Mobil, Alfatec, Sodexo, and Heltex.
Peru
In Peru, the programme returned to the José Faustino Sánchez Carrión school. In 2023, the training impacted 150 children, and during this first visit of 2024, it reached more than 120. Activities included a knowledge test, a road safety board game, a recycling workshop, and a collaborative story about road safety. The next activity is scheduled to take place between November and December, with the expectation of training more than 300 children in 2024.
This effort reflects Inchcape’s vision of creating a safer road environment for everyone, starting from childhood.
In 2025, the programme will begin to expand to other countries in the region.
