Inchcape Hellas expands its portfolio with leading EV brand GAC AION

Inchcape Hellas, a member of Inchcape plc and the leading distributor of Toyota and Lexus in Greece, is taking a new strategic step by adding GAC AION, the electric vehicle brand of Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC Group), to its portfolio.

Advancing the future of mobility in Greece

The partnership with GAC AION supports Inchcape’s Accelerate+ strategy, driving growth through new OEM relationships and reinforcing our focus on innovation and sustainable mobility. Through this new distribution agreement, Inchcape Hellas strengthens its presence in the Greek market and expands its operations, reaffirming its role as a growth driver in the automotive sector with solutions that shape the future of mobility in Greece.

GAC AION arrives in Greece

GAC AION, the electric vehicle division of GAC Group – one of the leading global automotive groups – produces more than 2.5 million vehicles annually and ranks in the Fortune Global 500. With over one million electric vehicles sold in less than five years, GAC AION has established one of the fastest growth trajectories in the global automotive industry.

The partnership will see GAC AION enter the Greek market with the AION V, a fully electric SUV featuring cutting-edge technology and a WLTP range of 510 km, even in its base version. It offers ultra-fast charging from 30% to 80% in just 18 minutes and top-level safety with a 5-star EuroNCAP rating. Its fully digital interior includes smart voice controls and premium comfort features such as heated seats with massage, a panoramic sunroof and an integrated refrigerator with cooling and heating functions.

The AION V will be followed by the AION UT, further strengthening the brand’s presence in Greece.

A strategic investment in electric mobility

The partnership forms part of a broader investment plan by Inchcape Hellas to accelerate electric mobility in Greece. This includes the creation of a new, fully digitalised showroom in the northern suburbs of Attica designed to set a benchmark for the electric mobility experience, along with the development of a dedicated sales and service network supported by targeted investments in talent and training. These initiatives will support local job creation and embed sustainable practices fully aligned with Inchcape Group’s ESG commitments.

“Our partnership with the GAC Group and the addition of GAC AION to our portfolio represent a strategic step forward,” said Hermann Riedl, CEO & Managing Director, Inchcape Hellas. “We are bringing to Greece an electric vehicle brand that combines cutting-edge technology, premium quality and genuine value for the consumer. Inchcape Hellas has the infrastructure, expertise and talent to make electric mobility an integral part of everyday life in a reliable, accessible and meaningful way.”

Delivering on Accelerate+

The launch of GAC AION in Greece marks another milestone in Inchcape’s Accelerate+ strategy, which continues to deliver growth through new distribution partnerships, entry into dynamic markets and an unwavering focus on innovation and sustainability.
