Inchcape features in S&P Global Mobility’s 2026 Automotive Supplier Outlook

Inchcape’s perspective on the dynamic and constantly evolving global automotive sector is featured in the newly published S&P Global Mobility 2026 Supplier Outlook, with insights from Chief Commercial Officer, Romeo Lacerda.

The annual Outlook brings together influential voices from across the mobility ecosystem to explore the regulatory, operational and technology trends shaping the year ahead for OEMs, suppliers and distributors.

Reflecting on 2025

In his contribution, Romeo outlines how 2025 was a year of continued transformation for the automotive industry. While Inchcape was not directly exposed to tariff measures, we experienced indirect pressures in certain markets, including softer premium demand in parts of Asia and limited logistics disruption as trade routes evolved.

Romeo highlights that our resilience is rooted in our diversified geographic footprint, portfolio of world-class automotive brands and the strength of our long-standing OEM partnerships. Inchcape’s data-driven operating model, disciplined approach to cost, inventory and capital management, and investment in digital platforms have enabled us to adapt quickly to local market conditions and capture opportunities — including selective growth in New Energy Vehicle (NEV) markets.

Outlook for 2026

Romeo emphasises that Inchcape enters 2026 focused on delivering growth, aligned to our medium-term ambition of delivering more than 10% EPS CAGR (compounded annual growth rate). While electrification, AI and Sustainability continue to reshape mobility, their impact varies significantly across markets which plays directly to Inchcape’s strengths as a locally embedded Distribution partner with deep understanding of consumer behaviour, regulatory environments and execution on the ground.

As OEMs face rising regulatory, cost and competitive pressures, Inchcape’s independent Distribution model becomes even more valuable – helping OEMs grow market share and access high-potential markets. Romeo also underscores the growing importance of technology in shaping customer engagement and operational efficiency. Inchcape is already harnessing AI to personalise marketing and aftersales journeys, enhance demand forecasting and optimise vehicle availability - enabling OEM partners to connect more effectively with customers and strengthen performance.

Strategic priorities for the year ahead

Looking ahead, Romeo reiterates that our priorities remain anchored in our Accelerate+ strategy. We will continue to scale through value-accretive growth opportunitiesenhance our digital and data capabilities and maintain strong execution discipline across our global operations. We continue to invest in our people – the 16,000+ incredible Inchcapers who drive our business - building capabilities to support the NEV transition, strengthening leadership skills and embedding a high-performance culture.

Great people, empowered by market-leading technology, remain central to Inchcape’s ability to deliver resilient performance and sustained, high-quality growth.
