  • Inchcape launched the C-Class, GLC, and GLC Coupé Plug-In Hybrid models in Ecuador as part of its commitment to more efficient and sustainable mobility.

Inchcape, the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Ecuador and a global leader in automotive distribution, introduces the new plug-in hybrid models C-Class, GLC, and GLC Coupé to the country. These iconic vehicles in the premium segment now combine ultimate luxury with energy efficiency and next-generation technology.

This launch reinforces Inchcape Americas' commitment to deploying its regional Accelerate+ strategy, focused on expanding access to new energy vehicle (NEV) solutions in Latin America.

In markets like Ecuador, where electric charging infrastructure is still under development, plug-in hybrids are positioned as a tangible, accessible, and high-value-added solution to advance towards cleaner and more connected mobility.

Plug-in hybrids: superior performance, environmental awareness

The new Mercedes-Benz models integrate a dual-motor system that combines the 2.0 Turbo engine with a high-torque electric motor, generating a total power output of 308 hp and 550 Nm of torque. This configuration enables:

  • 100% electric range of up to 128 km, ideal for daily emission-free commutes.
  • Seamless transition between thermal and electric engines, ensuring extended range and efficiency.
  • Regenerative braking system, optimising energy consumption and improving overall performance.

This powertrain delivers powerful, smooth, and silent driving, maintaining the dynamism and excitement characteristic of Mercedes-Benz.

Technology and design: without compromise

Each model comes equipped with the best in innovation, comfort, and sportiness:

  • MBUX system with voice control and artificial intelligence, offering a personalised and intuitive experience.
  • Standard AMG design, adding character and an athletic aesthetic.
  • Premium interiors inspired by the S-Class, featuring ambient lighting and high-quality materials that elevate the comfort standard.

In addition to their cutting-edge design, these models offer advanced connectivity and solutions designed to accompany every journey with style and safety.

Ecuador in the NEV strategy of Inchcape Americas

With a presence in 14 markets across the region and over 50 represented brands, Inchcape Americas leads the energy transition in the Latin American automotive sector. Ecuador, with its dynamism and growing interest in sustainable solutions, is a key market in this transformation.

“With this new range of plug-in hybrids, we offer Ecuadorians a tangible option to join more efficient and responsible mobility, without compromising on design, range, or performance,” highlights Camila Mejía, Commercial Director of Mercedes-Benz, Inchcape Ecuador.

This launch is part of a broader vision aimed at creating a sustainable mobility ecosystem through active collaboration between OEMs, regulators, distributors, and consumers. The electrification of the automotive fleet is a gradual process, and plug-in hybrids are currently a strategic tool to accelerate this change inclusively and adapted to local conditions.
