Imcruz – Inchcape Bolivia strengthens its commitment to sustainability following its adherence to the Global Compact

Bolivia

Imcruz – Inchcape Bolivia, with over 40 years of experience in the automotive sector, has presented its first Progress Report following its adherence to the United Nations Global Compact. This initiative, recognised as the largest in corporate sustainability globally, makes Imcruz the only automotive company in Bolivia to be part of this global pact, reaffirming its commitment to more responsible business practices.

Since November 2023, the date of its adherence, Imcruz has focused its efforts on aligning its operations with the 10 Universal Principles of the Global Compact, which cover key areas such as Human Rights, Labour Standards, Environment, Transparency, and Anti-Corruption. To oversee compliance with these principles, the company has established a Sustainability Committee that evaluates and adjusts strategies in line with current challenges.

The Progress Report details the achievements made across its four fundamental pillars: Planet, People, Places, and Practices, thus integrating sustainability into its responsible business strategy.

Key achievements:

Pillar: Planet

  • Carbon Footprint Measurement and Management: Imcruz has made progress in environmental management by measuring, reporting, and managing its Carbon Footprint, including direct emissions (Scope 1) and indirect emissions from energy consumption (Scope 2).
  • Circular Economy: Conversion of 100% of used oils in workshops.
  • Eco-Friendly Facilities: A new showroom in La Paz featuring glazed curtain walls to maintain thermal comfort and solar panels for clean energy production.

Pillar: People

  • Training in Inclusion and Diversity: 40% of senior management positions are held by women, and the company has a gender equity and inclusion plan for 2026.
  • Implementation of a hybrid work format in back-office areas and adaptation of spaces to foster collaboration.
  • Introduction of benefits prioritising the well-being and psychological safety of colleagues.

Pillar: Places

  • Workplace Safety Standards: Renewal of 80% of lifts in technical service workshops and certification under international standards.
  • Mobility Alternatives: Offering mobility solutions backed by over 40 years of experience, contributing to the country's development.

Pillar: Practices

  • Strengthening the commitment to Better Ethical Practices with policies and codes of conduct to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Adherence to the Global Compact: Reinforcing the work model and establishing a solid framework for ethical and responsible business conduct.
  • Guidance for colleagues to act with integrity.

A commitment to the future
