Every October 24th, the International Day Against Climate Change is commemorated, aiming to raise awareness in society about its effects on the planet and promote measures to help reduce its impact.
In this context, Ximena Rodríguez, Team Lead for Responsible Business at Inchcape Americas, discussed the main initiatives the company is leading in this area and highlighted the use of renewable energy in branches and the promotion of electromobility both in the company's vehicle fleet and in the offerings to customers. “If we look at the growth in this segment so far this year, the sale of these types of vehicles has increased by 22% compared to 2022. This has driven the region's transition to the use of these new technologies, with less environmental impact.”
Additionally, the executive detailed that one of the challenges the company has set for 2030 is to reduce its emissions by 46%, which involves “encouraging innovative thinking where we are not only focused on the final number but also on the process and the set of decisions that lead to those results.” She also highlighted the work being done to reduce other resources, such as water and plastic.
