Inchcape Americas advances towards a more sustainable operation

The results reflect the work that Inchcape has been driving to transform its operations through energy efficiency initiatives, electrification, the incorporation of renewable energy, and more efficient management of its consumption across the region.

"Sustainability is a fundamental part of how we are transforming our business for the future. Reducing our emissions not only involves incorporating new technologies but also rethinking the way we operate, manage our resources, and engage our teams in this process," said Ximena Rodríguez, Sustainability Manager for Inchcape Americas.

The executive added that "these advances reflect Inchcape's commitment to accelerating a responsible transition, generating a positive impact on our operations, our customers, and the communities where we are present."

In the region, Inchcape has 22 branches equipped with solar panels, ten more than the previous year. Most of these new installations are located in Chile, Bolivia, and Peru.

In total, 33 branches use renewable energy sources: 22 through on-site solar generation and 11 through electricity contracted from renewable sources.

The company has also strengthened its energy monitoring and management capabilities. In Peru, it implemented 15 telemetering systems and five Building Management Systems (BMS), which allow for monitoring and optimising consumption primarily related to air conditioning and lighting.

These initiatives are complemented by Ruta Sostenible, an internal programme aimed at identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiency and emissions reduction.

Currently, 117 branch sites are participating, supported by 203 Sustainability Champions (internal sustainability ambassadors) and more than 4,200 colleagues involved across the region.

Inchcape's progress has also been recognised in various markets. In Costa Rica, the General Cañas and Zapote branches earned the Blue Flag Ecological Award, achieving a score above 95%.

In Bolivia, the company received the Sustainability Recognition from Revista COSAS and advanced 24 positions in the MERCO ranking of responsible companies (ESG).

Meanwhile, the Chilean operation was recognised by the Ministry of the Environment through the Huella Chile programme with the Seal of Excellence, which acknowledges organisations' progress in managing and reducing their carbon footprint and implementing concrete actions to advance decarbonisation.

Inchcape continues to expand access to New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). This category includes electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and other technologies that help reduce transport-related emissions.

In August 2026, the company achieved a notable market share in this segment across various regional markets, reaching 57.7% in Panama, 37.5% in Bolivia, 36.7% in Chile, 33.8% in Peru, 14.5% in Colombia, and 11.1% in Costa Rica.

Through a multi-technology portfolio with more than 90 models available in the 14 markets in the region where it operates, the company aims to keep pace with each country's transition, considering consumer preferences, available infrastructure, and the particularities of each market.

The combination of increasingly efficient operations and the expansion of low-emission mobility solutions is part of Inchcape's commitment to the sustainable development of the automotive industry.

Inchcape is the world's largest automotive distributor, with operations across five continents. In Latin America, it is present in 14 countries in the region, where we are partners with more than 40 vehicle and machinery brands.
