Empowering communities through road safety initiatives

At Inchcape, our purpose is clear: to bring mobility to the world’s communities, for today, tomorrow and for the better. Central to this mission is our unwavering commitment to making roads safer by improving education and raising awareness across all the markets we serve.

Aligned with the 'Places' pillar of our Sustainability framework, each road safety programme is tailored to address the unique challenges of local communities and powered by strong, collaborative partnerships. With 21 initiatives rolled out last year, we’re proud to share how our initiatives are making a difference across our regions in 2025.

Americas

Since its launch in Peru in 2023, the "Yo Me Muevo Seguro (I Move Safely) Kids" programme has expanded to Costa Rica in 2024 and Chile in 2025. So far it has engaged 496 children across five schools with support from 122 dedicated volunteers, providing educational activities that promote safer mobility amongst the next generation of road users. By the end of 2025, we aim to reach over 900 children, mobilise 450+ volunteers, and contribute around 2,000 hours to this transformative initiative.

Asia-Pacific

In Australasia, Subaru Australia’s longstanding partnership with the Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) has raised over $1.5 million for the ARSF to support road safety education for young Australians. In New Zealand, Subaru is the official vehicle partner of Street Smart, a programme run with the Tony Quinn Foundation, which equips young drivers and their families with essential roads safely skills. So far this year, we have reached nearly 600 young drivers, reinforcing the role of education in promoting responsible driving.

In Hong Kong, Inchcape Greater China has partnered with Diamond Cab, a pioneering social enterprise providing transportation services for wheelchair users. Over the past 15 years, this collaboration has championed accessible and safe mobility, including adding a Toyota Hybrid Noah Welcab to their fleet earlier this year. By promoting social inclusion and impactful community development, this partnership reflects Inchcape’s core Sustainability commitments.

Europe & Africa

200 Bodaboda riders in Naivasha, Kenya benefited from a comprehensive road safety programme organised by Inchcape Kenya in partnership with National Transport and Safety Authority, Postbank, Sight Aid International and the Private Bikers Association of Kenya. In response to rising road fatalities – with an average of three riders every day losing their lives in road crashes over the last nine months - the initiative promotes responsible riding, proper safety gear, following traffic rules and awareness on sharing the road with other vehicles safely. Riders also received training on financial wellness including budgeting, saving and investing from Postbank, alongside free eye check-ups and spectacles from Sight Aid International.

At Inchcape, road safety is more than a responsibility - it’s a shared vision that drives us to create meaningful change in every market we serve. By tailoring our programmes to meet local needs and leveraging the strength of our partnerships, we are helping communities thrive while building long-term impact. As we continue to expand our initiatives, we remain committed to fostering safer, more sustainable mobility for all.
