Inchcape walks the distance for STEPtember

As part of Inchcape’s Responsible Business activities, we offer our colleagues the opportunity to participate in STEPtember – not only to raise funds to support people living with cerebral palsy, but also encourage our colleagues to look after their physical and mental wellbeing by taking 10,000 steps every day throughout September, which can be achieved through a variety of activities.

We all know how important staying active is for our physical and mental health and STEPtember allows Inchcape team members to connect with their colleagues, look after their wellbeing and raise funds for a great cause.

Inchcape participants in 2021’s STEPtember raised an incredible $19,428.81 and took an astounding 45,325,042 steps. To take this impressive figure one step further, Inchcape rounded up and matched fundraising efforts, taking the total funds raised to $40,000.

At the commencement of STEPtember, Inchcape was honoured to have Ben Tudhope, an ambassador for STEPtember, share his inspiring story with our colleagues. Ben is a Paralympic Snowboarder who at 14 became the world’s youngest ever Winter Paralympian competing at the 2014 and 2018 Winter Paralympic Games. Ben was born with hemiplegic cerebral palsy, affecting coordination and muscle movement on the left side of his body. Whilst there were always physical setbacks, Ben always found a way to overcome them and is now competing in the hardest category in his sport – below the knee disability – and is one of the most naturally talented boarders on tour.
