Inchcape Pride: Advancing inclusion across our global business

In 2022, we launched our Responsible Business and Inclusion & Diversity plans. These plans reinforced our ambition to better reflect the world’s communities and build inclusion and a sense of belonging so our colleagues can be themselves.

We’re marking Pride this year by recognising the collective efforts we are making to be an inclusive business for our all our colleagues and communities. Pride is a reminder of the progress made in advancing LGBTQ+ inclusion and the work that still lies ahead. Achieving this requires concrete actions and dedication to deliver an equitable experience for all our colleagues around the world.

This Pride month we are partnering with specialists to drive the conversation on LGBTQ+ family support, gender identity and trans inclusion. Our colleagues will be sharing their experience and stories of belonging to shine a spotlight on actions that further inclusion.

Pride Month is an opportunity to reflect on our collective efforts and showcase the strides we have taken on our Inclusion & Diversity journey so far.

How we are advancing inclusion at Inchcape

  • Developed and launched global Inclusion & Diversity and Anti-Discrimination Policies with commitments to colleagues of all sexual orientations and gender identities and examples of unacceptable behaviour.
  • Our new, mandatory global Inclusion & Diversity elearning is being rolled out and explores behaviours and actions that will enable us to create a truly inclusive culture.
  • Delivered our bespoke Inclusive Leadership Programme to approximately 600 senior leaders globally.
  • Embedding equitable approaches within our health and wellbeing and family friendly policies.
  • Implemented a global senior recruitment supplier reset on inclusion and diversity priorities.
  • Defined our diversity data and reporting requirements, inclusive of sexual orientation and gender identity, to help us measure the impact of our Inclusion & Diversity efforts.
  • Joined the first LGBTQ+ external network for the automotive sector: Driving Pride.
  • Developing global guidance on gender transitioning at Inchcape.
  • Provided opportunities for colleagues to share their experiences and learn through our global Inclusion & Diversity awareness days.

Our progress so far

  • 92% of leaders now report they now have the skills to encourage team members to discuss inclusion and exclusion experiences (increase from 70% prior to the Inclusive Leadership Programme).
  • Gender neutral language being introduced into our policies and hiring processes.
  • Over 7,000 colleagues engaged with our Inclusion & Diversity events and talks to date.

We are building the foundations we need to create a culture where people of all backgrounds and experiences can be themselves in a safe environment and become equipped with the skills for today and tomorrow. We’ve delivered programmes, built communities and created opportunities for our colleagues to come together to learn, progress and feel a sense of belonging at Inchcape.
