CEO Inchcape Americas

    Romeo joined Inchcape on 1 September 2021 from Mondelēz International Inc, where he served as president of Western Europe. In this role, he was responsible for seven countries (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece) and iconic brands such as LU, Cote D’Or, Milka, Suchard and Philadelphia.

    He has extensive international experience having held senior positions both in his home country, Brazil, and in Latin America, Europe and EEMEA (Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa).

    In his time at Inchcape Americas, he has excelled in leading strong organic growth and also achieving successful acquisitions for the group: majority shareholdings in Ditec (Chile), ITC & Simpson Motors (Caribbean) and Derco (Chile, Colombia, Peru and Bolivia) the most important for the company in the last 50 years.

    Romeo is recognised as a close leader with a robust management of M&A, corporate strategy, development and management of high performance teams, sales, marketing, distribution and relationships with our allies.

    Roberto Delgado
    Roberto Delgado

    MD Andean Cluster (Peru, Bolivia)

      Roberto is a Commercial Engineer from the Catholic University of Chile and has more than 35 years of experience in the automotive industry.  In January 2023 he assumed the challenge of leading the Transformation area of Inchcape Americas.    

      Previously, he served as Managing Director of Inchcape Chile/Argentina and for 15 years was the Regional Director of Subaru, where he positioned the brand within the Global Top 5 in volume in the Chilean market, achieving 80% sales participation in Inchcape at the regional level in Latin America.  

      He also led the acquisition of a majority share of the Chilean distributor of luxury brands (Ditec, 2022) and the rapid development of the Geely brand in Chile where it reached the first position in the region during 2022.   

      He has a vast experience with Japanese and premium OEMs and strong skills in leadership, team management, negotiation and M&A. 

      Emilio Ascarrunz
      Emilio Ascarrunz

      VP Automotive

        Commercial Engineer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, with 34 years of experience in the automotive industry in different countries such as Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Colombia, obtaining the distribution and positioning, together with large teams, of several brands and products with different characteristics, identities and target segments.

        Emilio has a vast experience negotiating and leading work groups in different countries.

        He is part of Inchcape since January 2023.

        Karen Blanco
        Karen Blanco

        VP People

          With more than 25 years of professional experience in different FMCG multinationals such as Coca Cola and British American Tobacco, Karen joined Inchcape in 2019 to lead the Human Resources area of Inchcape COPA (Costa Rica and Panama).

          In 2020, she moved up to Head of Human Resources for the Americas region, and from January 2023 she assumed the role of Vice President of People for Inchcape Americas.

          Karen has strong competencies in leadership, team management, coaching and recruiting.

          She is a Business Administrator from the University of Costa Rica and holds an MBA from the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica.

          Ignacio Ballester

          CFO Americas

            With over 20 years of international experience in various financial management roles at British American Tobacco, Ignacio joined Inchcape in January 2023 as CFO for the Americas.  

            Ignacio has extensive entrepreneurial, managerial and motivational skills and an outstanding track record in turning around businesses, transforming global operations, developing high-performance teams and delivering results that maximize shareholder returns.  

            He studied Finance at the University of Buenos Aires, has an MBA from IDEA and graduate studies in finance at NYU Stern, INSEAD and Columbia Business School. 

            Rodrigo Gutiérrez
            Rodrigo Gutiérrez

            VP Digital

              Rodrigo joined Inchcape in January 2023 as VP Digital Americas, leading the digital and technology strategy for the region.

              He has more than 20 years of professional experience and previously worked in different roles at Derco, including 5 in Customer and Marketing areas.

              Expert in management and development of commercial support areas, customer strategy, marketing and process optimisation. He has strong skills for the implementation of technology and information projects and digital transformation.

              Rodrigo Schmidt
              Rodrigo Schmidt

              Legal and Compliance Director

                Rodrigo is Legal & Regulatory Compliance Director for Inchcape Americas and Chile. He is a lawyer with more than 10 years of experience in the automotive industry and more than 20 years in total. 

                Rodrigo is a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, with a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois and previous work experience in mass consumer and distribution companies, as well as in law firms both in Chile and in the United States (New York).   

                Rodrigo specializes in regulatory, compliance, corporate and antitrust law.   

                Since 2020, he is the leader of the Practices pillar of Inchcape’s global responsible business agenda. 

                Jorge Maldonado
                Jorge Maldonado

                MD CARCAM (Caribbean, Costa Rica, Panama)

                  Industrial Engineer from Texas A&M University, with a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Tulane University and more than 25 years of experience in the automotive and business sector in sales and general management positions.  

                  He has more than 5 years of experience in Inchcape Americas in senior management positions. Initially, as General Manager of Subaru, BYD and DFSK for Colombia and Peru and later as Managing Director of Inchcape Peru. In May 2022 he took over as Director of the IMO (Integration Management Office Director), key to the acquisition of Derco, and since this year he is the Managing Director of CARCAM (Caribbean and Central Americas Market), which includes the Caribbean, Costa Rica and Panama.  

                  He focuses on profitability for the company and its shareholders and the efficient management of human talent, resources and innovation. 

                  Marco García

                  MD MACAM (ARG, MB COL, URU, ECU, SAL, HON, GUA)

                    Marco has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive sector, 8 of them in Inchcape Americas in different management roles (MD Inchcape Chile, M&A Director Americas and MD Inchcape Daimler Americas).   

                    Since January 2023, he assumed as Managing Director of the Inchcape MACAM cluster (Multibrand Automotive Cluster Americas), present in 7 markets: Mercedes-Benz Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala.   

                    His profession is Business Administrator from Santa María la Antigua University in Panama and he stands out for having a strategic view of the automotive sector and for being inspiring, focused and a good communicator for the teams he leads. 

                    Cristian Sierra

                    MD Chile

                      Civil Engineer from the University of Chile and MBA from the University of the Andes in Colombia. Cristian has more than 20 years of work experience, 15 of them in the automotive sector.

                      At Derco he held various positions both locally and regionally, including being the General Manager of Derco Colombia, Peru and Chile.

                      In January 2023, once the acquisition of Derco was completed, Cristian assumed the role of Managing Director of Inchcape Chile & Autoplanet.

                      He has strong skills in leadership, team management, negotiation, sales and commercial strategy.

                      Matías Andreani

                      MD Bolivia

                        Matías is a Commercial Engineer with nearly ten years of experience in the automotive industry. Before taking on the role of Managing Director in Bolivia, he served as the Director of Retail & Network. In this position, he faced the challenge of leading the integration process of the company’s own retail operation between Dercocenter and Inchcape Retail.

                        Andreani joined Derco in 2014 as Corporate Compensation and Planning Sub-Manager. Subsequently, he took on the role of Customer Manager, a position he held until 2020. Between 2020 and 2021, he led the People, Customers, and Sustainability Management, before assuming the position of Manager of the Dercocenter Network in Chile.

                        MD Inchcape Colombia

                          Héctor Corredor is the Managing Director of Inchcape Colombia.

                          He joined Inchcape in March 2020 as General Manager for the Mercedes-Benz Colombia brand, following Inchcape’s acquisition of the Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars & Vans operation from Daimler Colombia.

                          During these 4 years of business management at Inchcape as the MD of Mercedes-Benz, Héctor stood out for his strong leadership, negotiation, planning, and sales skills, which, among other reasons, led him to assume the General Management of Inchcape in the country.

                          He has 25 years of experience in Planning, Distribution, Sales, and Marketing in multinational and national companies across various sectors of the economy, of which 20 have been in the automotive industry with companies such as Shell Oil, Kia Motors, and Inchcape Daimler Colombia (Mercedes Benz.

                          Pablo Klocker

                          MD Machinery

                            Pablo is a civil engineer from the Universidad Católica del Norte in Bolivia and held senior management positions at Derco in the machinery area for more than 10 years.

                            Before assuming this role he worked as General Manager of Imcruz, and joined Inchcape Americas in January 2023 as Managing Director of Inchcape Bolivia.

                            During his time with this operation, Inchcape Bolivia has been recognised by the Merco awards as one of the 10 companies with the best corporate reputation, and additionally in the Maya Awards it was ranked as the best automotive importer in Bolivia and Suzuki as the best automotive brand in the country.

                            Pablo was listed as one of the 40 BEST CEOs in Bolivia according to the media “Bolivian Business”, occupying a place in the TOP 10 of this measurement.
