New MINI Countryman: The MINI SUV takes it to the next level

The MINI Countryman unleashes MINI’s adventurous curiosity with the versatility of a true SUV. As the largest car MINI has ever produced, it brings a new design, more technology, and greater sustainability.

March 2024 – The new MINI Countryman is an SUV that encapsulates contemporary minimalism. With a robust image and elegant lines, this vehicle is designed to take you to the most interesting places with maximum comfort, being a reliable companion with all the boldness of a MINI.

Its natural and robust elegance adapts to both city and nature, with details such as the front grille, spectacular headlights, and imposing Powerdome hood. New futuristic design lines accompany the brand’s new model on its sides and rear, which nonetheless maintain details that are identified with MINI tradition.

The interior aesthetics are marked by minimalist design, excellent finishes, and refined details. Premium materials, many of them recyclable, advanced technology, and ambient lighting combine to create a highly refined driving experience, which can be customized through eight different driving modes.

The new, completely redesigned cabin has been conceived under the “less is more” criterion, and based on this, the focal point and operation center of the car is the central dashboard with the impressive circular OLED touch screen. It uses the most advanced OLED technology, measures 240 mm in diameter, and in its operation, the BMW Group has poured the most advanced of its technology. It acts as an instrument cluster but also as an assistance and infotainment center. Additionally, it is the first round screen in the automotive industry.

Another key aspect of this new model relates to safety, starting with the innovative LED headlights that provide optimal illumination in low-light places, as well as lateral illumination when taking curves, and adding elements of active and passive safety.

Depending on the version, you can find a front camera, up to 6 cameras that generate a 360° view and radars that act as object/pedestrian detection elements and provide different driving assistance and parking systems, including, for example, front collision warning with autonomous preventive braking, lane change assistant and blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, automatic parking assistant with autonomous entry and exit in tight spaces (all of the above as standard) as well as adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, parking assistant plus system, among the most outstanding.

A separate chapter for the introduction in the New Countryman of the “MINI Connected” system from MINI, which allows access to a series of online services by connecting the vehicle to the digital world, either in the car itself or through the smartphone app (coming soon available), to be able to remotely execute functions of the vehicle, such as turning on lights, horn, remote opening/closing of the car, access to the car’s location by GPS; programming interior climate control, displaying the 360° camera system (depending on the version) and even accessing services such as emergency call, scheduling maintenance, among others.

Finally, this new model does not detract from its sporty profile, the new Cooper engines reach 156 HP of power with a torque of 230Nm, the Cooper S ALL4 204 HP and a torque of 300Nm, and the JCW reaches 296HP with a torque of 400Nm. Two electric versions are added: E with a power of 204 HP and SE with 313 HP, the latter All4 having 2 electric motors, one on each axle.

“The New Countryman is the first model of the new generation of MINI, which surprises us with advances in the core and recognized aspects of the brand: design, technology, and sustainability. And it is the starting point for a new era for MINI, in which on its 65th birthday, it is definitely moving to the next level.”, said Sebastián Dañil, MINI Chile Manager.

The New Countryman will offer four levels of finishes and equipment in its gasoline versions: Essential, Classic, Favoured, and JCW. And by mid-year, the electric versions E and SE with Classic and Favoured finishes will be added.
