CHILE: New state-of-the-art, flagship BMW retail centre opens in Santiago

December 2013 - Inchcape was delighted to officially open its new landmark BMW retail facility in Chile’s capital, Santiago. The 16,000 square metre flagship building in La Dehesa was opened with an exclusive media event attended by André Lacroix, Inchcape’s Chief Executive Officer, and BMW's Director for the Americas, Ludwig Willisch.

The new centre’s beautiful architecture, extensive floor area and sustainable features provide a dramatic, premium feel where visitors can ‘experience the future’ of viewing, buying and owning a BMW with the highest levels of customer care.  Customer areas include all the comforts that this premium brand promises, and new aftersales facilities have increased service capacity by 100% and parts storage capacity by a factor of 12. Significant investment in technology, communication and telephone systems, ensure a substantial improvement in customer communications.  BMW customers can truly look forward to service standards never before experienced in this market.

The centre offers innovative new benefits for customers including three-year free warranty and three-year free maintenance on all new vehicles. BMW’s ‘ServiceConnect’ offering includes industry pioneering concepts such as online service booking, mobile service and ‘Active Reception’ – where, following a free safety and vehicle health check, customers are invited to discuss repairs and receive an accurate time and cost estimate.

Inchcape is the premium market leader with BMW in Chile and Peru. Inchcape Chile, with its rich and varied heritage, is an important and exciting market for Inchcape.  The country’s economy has grown exponentially for many years and consequently customers are increasingly drawn to BMW, an aspirational premium brand and the manufacturer of ‘the ultimate diving machine’.

The new BMW centre’s design and functionality attest to the heritage and prestige of BMW, reflecting the values of design, innovation, technology and environmental care that characterise the brand. It is one of the most modern and sustainable car centres in the world, with energy efficient features such as centrally controlled lighting and HVAC environmental control. The centre entered into the process of obtaining the prestigious ‘GOLD Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’ (LEED) Certification.
